The 2021 Planting project was started on Friday August 27th. We removed invasive species and prepared the site for our planting in October. This years planting is at the intersection of East Lake Rd and East Springbrook Road. We will be planting native trees and shrubs to stabilize the stream bank and absorb nutrients.
Delighted to have a dedicated group of volunteers help with the removal of non-native plants from the 2021 planting site at Silver Lake. The attached photos (courtesy of Lee Loomis) show the team member’s in action. The following individuals provided tools, trailers, a site of debris disposal, and/or physical labor during today’s efforts:
Barb Petrie (and her twin 10 year old grandchildren Adele & Noah)
Rebecca Mann (Wyoming County Soil and Water Conservation District)
Emely Bell (Wyoming County Soil and Water Conservation District)
Special thanks to the property owner, Diane Donohue
Again, thank you to everyone for your help!!!
